[note: “Agile Productivity”  was formerly known as “Quantum Productivity.” The quantum mindset is is still a significant part of Agile, however I believe the word Agile more fully embodies the idea that optimizing one’s productivity in the era of relentless change requires cultivating a flexible, iterative, improvisational approach to juggling the “8 Dances of Life.”

“Getting BIG Results by Designing Small Changes into Your Thoughts and Actions”

Do you:

  • Struggle with time, task and project management?Ariane Benefit, Life Transformation / ADHD Coach / Neurodiversity Advocate, Author, Speaker
  • Set up systems but within days or weeks, find yourself not following through on your great intentions?
  • Get bored quickly or lose interest in projects or goals that take a long time to complete?
  • Get bored with routine tasks?
  • Change your mind often or keep getting better ideas for how to do something before you get a chance to finish what you are doing?
  • Feel overwhelmed by disorganization and clutter?

 You are not alone.

These traits are a painfully common experience for many of us with neurodiverse brains with traits like: highly intelligent, ADHD, highly sensitive, highly creative, strong ideals, high need for change and freedom. Even being gifted in one area like math, science, computing, or music is a form of “neurodiversity.”

If you have traits outside the norm, you are included when I use the term “neurodiverse.” People like us have a tendency to feel overwhelmed more easily and more often than the average person.

Stuckness and frustration is what happens when we expect our high-speed, multi-faceted, non-linear brains to do things in a linear way.  Most conventional productivity and organizing systems are prepackaged systems that are designed for people with a high degree of  “self-directing” or executive function “self-control” capability.

Simply put, self-control means you have the ability to easily tell yourself to do something and just do it.  Sounds easy to most people, but not to people with ADHD or other neurodiversities like high intelligence or creativity.

Using systems whose very foundation is based on already having a high degree self-control is like trying to wear a left shoe on your right foot. It feels okay at first, but after a while, it starts to hurt and can do a whole lot of damage.

It just doesn’t fit.  And, it never will.

Cultivating the 8 Habits of Personal Agility, Self-Leadership, and the 10 Mantras of Agilizen to master the 8 Dances of Life is the path that truly helps us cope with and harness a brain that naturally works in unpredictable and often uncontrollable ways.

My current Agile philosophy is an evolution of Quantum Thinking and Productivity.

Below is a video I made in October 2011 that introduces the quantum productivity mindset. It’s still relevant, mostly just the name has changed.

Introduction to Quantum Productivity Video

Why are linear systems so challenging for us?

Because our brains are literally wired differently.  Most productivity and planning systems that depend on “routine” are fundamentally biased toward left-brain functioning. They simply don’t work for people with digital age, non-linear, right-brain, visual, global thinking, highly sensitive and reactive brains like ours. We love the design or project phase of setting up systems, but our brains don’t have the patience for implementing the routines of elaborate organizing systems – no matter how logical and attractive they are.

ADHD, highly creative, and other neurodiverse minds require a different kind of Owner’s Manual.

“I’ve learned to prioritize what matters most …”

I joined the Getting Unstuck coaching group and I’m thrilled with the progress I’ve made! It’s so great to upload photos of an area of my house I’m working on and get feedback. Plus the incredible resources to download or read, and the warmth of the group. I’ve learned to prioritize what matters most and I look forward to continuing to create an even more balanced life with the support I get from your Coaching Group. Thank you!”

Who is Agile Life Design and Agile Productivity coaching for?

Agile Life Design and Agile Productivity coaching are designed for people who resonate with any of the following:

  • ADHD  or  ADDish traits
  • Creative Personality type – Idea Person
  • Love learning new things to the extent that it’s distracting (addicted to insight)
  • Prefer being spontaneous
  • Have a long history of disorganization and clutter
  • Get frequently overwhelmed
  • Inconsistent
  • Highly Creative
  • Highly Technical
  • Gifted
  • Highly capable, yet difficulty completing projects as interests change
  • Unconventional, unique, maverick, misunderstood and/or feeling like you are “Not living up to your true potential.”

People like us face unique challenges in life that few service professionals including bosses, doctors, therapists, coaches, organizers, and even virtual assistants and family members are prepared to deal with.

We end up misdiagnosed, misunderstood, and all too often even traumatized.  We may completely lose faith in ourselves, become depressed, anxious, and self-loathing.  We often feel like no one out there can understand or help us.

I have been there.  I get it.  I am a very different kind of coach and this is a very different kind of coaching.

My mission is to help you embrace your gifts, own your limits and define productivity, success and life satisfaction YOUR way. This inner transformation is the key that empowers you to reclaim your potential and get on with recognizing the value you have to offer the world.

It’s never too late to start experiencing life with self-acceptance, self-confidence, and a sense of wholeness.  You are NOT defective just because you are different.

You can’t “control” the brain you were born with, but you can learn to roll with it and make the most of who you are.

You CAN live a productive and satisfying life but it means making changes from the inside out AND from the outside in.

“I feel like I can breathe again…”

“I truly felt very stuck and overwhelmed, surrounded by so much clutter, before joining the coaching program. I feel like I can breathe again…Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and for your dedication to helping others. It is a wonderful experience which I would highly recommend to anyone who struggles with clutter, organizing, decision making, or any of the topics that you cover.”

How do I know if Agile Life Design or Agile Productivity is right for me?

This is such a unique approach to coaching there is no way to be 100% sure.  I know you’ve been disappointed many times.  The best I can do is to provide questions to help you decide.  Ask yourself, “Am I willing to…?”

  • Try something different and see if it COULD be right for me?
  • Open up and be deeply honest with someone who might actually really get me and not judge my challenges as trivial?
  • Unlearn my negative beliefs about myself and make room for the possibility that I am valuable and worthy just as I am?
  • Learn an easier way to live with my unique set of neurodiverse traits, gifts and/or my ADHD ish traits?
  •  Release the struggle and suffering?
  • Share my struggles and triumphs in a private setting with like-minded people who share similar challenges?
  • Practice taking baby steps and allow myself time to integrate new skills?
  • Give myself time to “ease into” the experience and learn what I can from it?

If you answered yes to the above questions, this will most likely be a life transforming experience for you!  Whatever happens, you will learn a lot about yourself.

“Finally, people that really understand me and my thought process!

“Thank you for starting this program. It has been so refreshing to find a group of people that really understand me and my thought process. I have not been diagnosed with ADD but I have the traits – it explains so many things. I’m not crazy or lazy — my brain just works differently! Your group + private coaching has truly changed my life!I have gone from years of stagnant clutter to actually ENJOYING the process of clearing clutter and cleaning. My family is shocked and so am I. It took me a couple months to really change the way I think…but Wow! Now, I can’t imagine ever going back to the way I was. Thank you Thank you Thank you!”

~ Pamela T., California

“I’ve been repeatedly energized!”

“Being an active member of your Getting Unstuck (now called Agile Life Design or Agile Productivitygroup coaching program has been tremendously helpful to me these past few months. You have helped me see my organizing issues in ways I had never considered before. I’ve been repeatedly energized by following through with your suggestions! I’ve listened to all of the coaching calls live and the help I’ve received has certainly been worth it! Thanks so much!

My Dream for us…

As you know, we don’t yet have a widely accepted, proven model for healing the suffering often caused by being different or by having ADHD, giftedness, chronic disorganization, time and project management issues, etc.

Developing a reliable model for us to learn how to achieve a satisfying level of productivity and feel empowered to confidently manifest more of our potential is what I live to do.

My life’s work has been my own recovery from the syndrome that comes with being labeled “gifted” and “highly creative” (and also having undiagnosed or misdiagnosed ADHD and PTSD.)  I’ve found solutions in some surprising places and am dedicated to bringing them together in a cohesive framework to share with others.

When you work with me, you become part of the process of continuously evolving a methodology that helps people like us break the cycle of secret shame and self-limitation that comes with chronic disorganization and paralyzing “profound” procrastination or what I call “stuckness.” The answer to stuckness is to get moving and become Agile.

(For now I’m calling my model the Agile Life Design or Agile Productivity framework, though that may not be the best name for it and it may change.)

Your success adds energy to the power of this model for embracing our uniqueness and harnessing our gifts and strengths to achieve more of our potential.

My vision is to design a positive education-based model that really works to end the suffering that comes along with chronic disorganization. Too many of us with ADHD and/or other neurodiverse brains are looking for answers from the medical model which calls our differences “disorders” like anxiety, depression, ADHD, sub-clinical bipolar, aspergers, learning disabilities, and more.

While medication may be part of the answer, education using non-linear, natural and organic learning strategies that work with our brains contributes at least 70% to our success. Not only educating ourselves, but also parents, schools and workplaces.

Interestingly, the mindset, strategies, and tools that facilitate our success make sense for EVERYONE.

Just because 80% of people CAN do things in a more linear way, and CAN force themselves to do things they hate doing – doesn’t mean they should have to.

The model I’m developing is about letting go of force.  It’s about facilitating not “controlling” success. It is about acceptance, compassion and kindness.  Who doesn’t want that?

My dream is to live in a world where being different doesn’t mean you have to be labeled as “disordered” or as having “deficits” and you don’t have to have medical insurance to get the help you need to live a fulfilling and satisfying life.

Just one last thing….

When stress, overwhelm, clutter, disorganization and productivity issues are ruining the quality of your life –  it’s easy to fall into a downward spiral of hopelessness and anxiety.  It’s easy to feel like you are alone, that no one understands the magnitude of how hard the struggle to do simple things can be for you.

In Agile Life Design or Agile Productivity coaching with me, you won’t be alone with your struggle any more. You will have a safe place to discover how to stop trying to be something you will never be – and work with your natural strengths to get results without having to “force” yourself to do things you hate doing.

My coaching is designed to address the needs of people who have tried many paths but haven’t experienced lasting results. I know how hard it can be to put yourself out there and trust that people won’t judge you. I will do my best to live up to your trust and would be incredibly honored to be part of your journey to living a simpler, more peacefully passionate and productive life!

In the meantime, you may also visit my Learning Center to learn about home study options that are available immediately including articles, recorded classes, ebooks and more to help you with your needs.

Till we connect again, keep noticing yourself with kindness and compassion…when you change the way you see yourself…you change.

  1. I wanted to say thank you.
Even though I haven’t yet signed up to join, I can sense your genuiness to help others to overcome the same hurdles you had also faced. This is a big encouragement for me & I’m sure to others to not give up!

  2. This is the first website I’ve found where a person has said exactly what I’ve been feeling. :) I’ve been searching for some kind of connection ie someone who truly has experienced what I’ve gone through; found and used unconventional/visual-spatial ways to accomplish their goals & clutter
